Women's metabolic health with a female GP in Dubai: PMOS (PCOS) and hormones
Hormonal conditions affect far more than periods. They shape weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, sleep and mood. Dr Farida Fanda looks at your hormones and your metabolic health together, so nothing is treated in isolation.
What we can help with
Assessment, clear explanations and long-term care, with a specialist referral when it is needed.
- PMOS (formerly PCOS): irregular periods, acne, hair changes and weight, plus its effect on blood sugar and cholesterol
- Perimenopause and menopause: hormonal and metabolic changes such as weight, cholesterol, sleep and mood
- Other hormonal concerns: irregular or heavy periods and changes you are unsure about
What happens at your appointment
We start by listening: your symptoms, cycle, health history and what matters most to you. Your GP examines you, checks for other causes and arranges tests on site where they will help, such as blood tests for hormones, blood sugar and cholesterol.
What you leave with
A clear explanation of what is going on, the options available to you, and a plan that covers both your symptoms and your longer-term heart and metabolic health. If you need a gynaecologist or endocrinologist, we arrange it and stay involved.
Why PMOS?
PMOS, Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, is the new name for PCOS. It reflects that the condition is hormonal and metabolic, not only about the ovaries, which is exactly why it suits an integrated approach.
What we do not provide
FanCare provides women's metabolic and primary care. Comprehensive gynaecology, fertility and pregnancy care are not provided; when you need them, we refer you to the right specialist.
Hormones and metabolism, cared for together
Heart and blood sugar
PMOS and the menopause transition can raise blood sugar and cholesterol, so we check them as part of your care.
Mood and sleep
Hormonal changes often affect sleep and mood. We ask about both and include them in your plan.
One female GP
The same doctor follows your care over time, so you do not have to repeat your story.
